BHA Membership The BHA, a 501(c)(6) organization, was established in 2003 and officially designated the International Alliance to Promote the Health Benefits of Dry Beans and Other Pulses. The BHA is supported partially by a two-year $1.5 million U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Global Development Alliance grant. Food scientist Stacey A. Zawel, Ph.D., leads a team of professionals who handle the day-to-day activities of the Alliance. An elected board of directors oversees the organization. These members support the Beans for Health Alliance. The BHA membership includes numerous organizations, companies, research institutions, and interested individual and scientists who work to promote the role of beans in global health, nutrition and disease prevention. The BHA welcomes inquiries about joining the BHA. |
